Recruitment is looking for a Kitchen Manager for privately Crematorium located on the outskirts of North East Bristol. The site is set in a beautiful rural setting with 5* facilities that offer a peaceful and calm setting for all its patrons. The site includes a brand new café and hospitality suit that can cater for up to 150 people, open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and on Saturdays 10am to 2pm. Foot fall can be from 10 guests at a time all the way to catering for larger wakes of 100 to 150 guests. Menu’s include healthy freshly made sandwiches, soups, jacket potatoes, home baked sweets and pastries, breakfasts and other light buffet and café style items, as well as quality coffees and teas.

We are looking for an experienced hands on Kitchen Manager or Catering Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of kitchen and front of house cafe management and operation. From a kitchen perspective this will include food preparation, cost control, management of stock, ordering, menu design, staff, training and health and safety management. Front of house, the role will be responsible for ensuring excellent service standards for all patrons at all times.

The Kitchen Manager will report directly to the Crematorium Manger and will be responsible for 4 Hospitality Assistants including kitchen and front of house staff.

It is essential that the Catering Manager understand the sensitive nature of the setting, understanding that customers are onsite to remember loved ones therefore candidates must be able to work in a calm and understanding manner that respects the nature of the visitors purpose on site.

The Kitchen Manager job is mainly a daytime only role offering an excellent opportunity to enjoy a good work/life balance for those not wanting to work more traditional kitchen hours. We are expecting applicants to come from previous Kitchen Manager, Catering Manager or Head Chef roles and we expect a minimum of Level 3 Hygiene certification.

Salary is negotiable, to around £28,000 per year depending on your level of experience.
